This course covers safe driving of a tractor, pre-use maintenance, safety checks and recognition of controls and instruments. The use of the tractor in a range of situations: driving safely and correctly around a suitable course (including reversing with a trailer), trailer hitching, attaching 3-point linkage and Power Take Off (PTO) driven attachments. There is an optional unit that covers the use of a tractor fitted with a front-end loader.

Candidates can choose the type of forklift for assessment: Rough Terrain Masted Forklift, Counter-balance Forklift or Telescopic Forklift. The course covers  operation and maintenance of the machines, pre-use maintenance and safety checks, recognition of controls and instruments.

The course covers pre-use checks, maintenance, instrument and control recognition, safe driving of Sit In and Sit-astride All Terrain Vehicles, manoeuvring the vehicle on rough terrain/slopes. There is an option to cover the use of a trailer or trailed attachment.

This course covers the use of abrasive wheel machines used for grinding or cutting and includes inspecting abrasive wheels and machines for damage, selection, fitting and adjustment of an abrasive wheel and the operation of abrasive wheel machine

If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations (2012) to take this qualification. The course will cover all Legislations, storage, disposal of chemicals and alsolabel understanding

This qualification is designed specifically for those who wish to apply pesticides using various types of handheld applicators.  It will cover checks on the equipment, safe use, cleaning and storage of the equipment

Tuition, Assessment and NPTC Certification: £300 (if combining the PA1 and PA6 then the total cost will be £400)

Location: Your Work placement / Roots to Fruit

 This qualification is designed specifically for those who wish to use either self propelled, mounted or horizontal boom sprayers as part of their daily role.  It will cover checks on the equipment, safe use, cleaning and storage of the equipment

This qualification is designed specifically for those who wish to use pesticides near waterways

This course covers safe driving of a dumper truck, pre-use maintenance, safety checks and recognition of controls and instruments. The use of the dumper in a range of situations: driving safely and correctly around a suitable course , tipping a load from the truck to a specified area.

Days: 2-3 Depending on Experience

Location: Your Work placement 

Candidates can choose the type of plant for assessment: 360 excavator or 180 excavator. The course covers  operation and maintenance of the machines, pre-use maintenance and safety checks, recognition of controls and instruments. Digging trenches and then back filling

Days: 2-3 Depending on Experience

Location: Your Work placement 

Candidates will gain the knowledge and understanding of a site Telescopic Forklift. The course covers  operation and maintenance of the machine, pre-use maintenance and safety checks, recognition of controls and instruments.
